My name is Chloe Plesset and I am currently the 4th and 5th grade math teacher here at MDCS. I started as an intern here and phased out early (before graduation) to work full time in EC. Anywho, I am dually certified in both Special Education (K-12) and General Education (K-6). I have experience teaching special education with grade levels 3rd through middle school, but after a half year in 5th grade and now a full year of 4th grade under my belt I can honestly say that I have found my place. My biggest struggle was figuring out how I could best support kids and reach their full potential. I can confidently say that it is by doing what I am currently doing because when you are with kids for the whole day, you can help shape the whole student instead of just helping them with academics.

My experience in special education has taught me the power of patience, adaptability, and individualized instruction-skills that are essential for meeting the needs of individuals. By understanding various learning styles, behavior interventions, and accommodations, I feel better equipped to support a wide range of students, not just those with identified disabilities. Beyond instruction strategies, my background has strengthened my ability to cultivate empathy, build strong relationships, and advocate for each student’s success. I bring a student-centered approach to the classroom, ensuring that all learners feel seen, heard, and capable of reaching their full potential.

Ultimately, my experience being so diverse has made me a more effective, compassionate, and resourceful educator-one who believes that with the right support, every student can thrive. My students do just that, they soar academically and behaviorally due to my approach. I am so excited to be able to teach math this year due to it being my area of strength and favorite subject. I bring a light and vibrant energy when it comes to teaching and kids may often come home talking about how fun learning is in my classroom. I bring a balance of fun and serious in order to help your students SOAR!!
