Gabby is excited to join Mountain Discovery Charter School as a second grade teacher for the 2026-2027 school year! Gabby has a Business Administration degree from North Carolina State University, and recently has completed the Educator Prep Program at East Carolina University. She joins MDCS with 3 years of experience teaching special education in grades 3-5.
Gabby grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina, graduating from Swain County High School in 2015. She is passionate about working with students in the community and helping them build confidence in themselves. Because of her background in special education, she understands that every child learns differently. Building meaningful relationships with students is her favorite part of teaching.
In Gabby’s free time, she is most likely spending time with her son, crafting, or going on hikes! She has hiked over 1,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail, and hopes to finish the trail in sections as her son gets older.
